S3DA Welcomes Meghan Usery as Missouri State Coordinator

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is proud to announce Meghan Usery as the new Missouri State Coordinator. A lifelong Missouri resident, passionate outdoorswoman, and advocate for youth development through archery, Usery brings a strong family foundation and firsthand experience within the S3DA program to her new role.

A proud Lincoln County native, Usery was born and raised in Hawk Point, Missouri. Today, she and her husband, Matt, are raising their three children, Neva, Mathias, and Jillian, and together they share a deep love for archery and the outdoors.

For Meghan, archery has always been a part of her family’s story. Growing up surrounded by avid outdoorsmen and women, backyard archery shoots were a familiar part of family gatherings alongside her dad, grandpa, siblings, aunts, and uncles. Her personal passion for the sport began when Matt gifted her a bow and began teaching her, as they shot alongside their two oldest children. A few years later, their youngest daughter joined in as well. What started as a way for the family to spend time together soon became much more, as Meghan and Matt watched their children develop discipline, focus, resilience, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment through the sport — lessons that extended far beyond the range.

In 2024, Meghan and Matt founded Outsider Archery, creating another opportunity to share their passion for archery with their children and their community.

The Usery family was introduced to S3DA through a friend whose daughter was already involved in the program. Meghan quickly became more involved at the state level, serving on the Missouri S3DA Board and working alongside former Missouri State Coordinator Jayne White for the past year and a half. That experience helped Meghan see even more clearly the impact S3DA can have on young people. “My inspiration to serve comes from firsthand witnessing the impact archery has on our youth,” said Usery. “It gives them structure, purpose, and a supportive community that encourages growth, not only as archers but as people.”

Meghan believes the lessons young people learn through archery – discipline, perseverance, focus, sportsmanship, and resilience – can help shape them both on and off the range. “Archery and S3DA truly empower our youth,” Usery added.

As Missouri’s new State Coordinator, Meghan is looking forward to building upon the foundation already established within the state and helping S3DA reach even more families and communities. Her goals are clear: grow S3DA throughout Missouri, expand the love of archery, and carry the mission of S3DA to more young people across the state. She is committed to creating a welcoming environment where youth can develop their skills, build lasting friendships, and experience the positive impact of a safe, supportive, and sportsmanlike archery community.

With a passion rooted in family, a love for the outdoors, and a desire to see young people succeed, Meghan Usery is ready to lead Missouri S3DA into its next chapter.
