Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is pleased to announce David Elmore as the new Georgia State Coordinator. With 15 years of experience in education, a background in business, extensive involvement in youth sports, and more than a decade of experience as a hunter and outdoorsman, Elmore brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position.
Elmore currently serves as an Assistant Principal and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Before entering education, he held multiple positions in the business sector. His experience in both business and education has provided him with valuable leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills that he hopes to use to strengthen and expand S3DA throughout Georgia.
Born in Arkansas, Elmore moved several times during his younger years before spending most of his life in Savannah, Georgia. He has called Statesboro home since 2009. Outside of his professional career, Elmore is actively involved in youth sports throughout Bulloch County and is a member of Compassion Christian Church. He enjoys hunting, archery, golf, and spending time supporting his children – including embracing his role as a proud dance dad.
Elmore and his wife, Jessie, have been together for 21 years and have two children, Lawton, 15, and Ella, 13. His connection to archery began through his family. After beginning bowhunting in his twenties, Elmore became involved in target archery in 2020 when his son, Lawton, began participating in the sport.
S3DA was one of the first organizations the Elmore family became involved with when they began their archery journey in 2020. Since then, David has continued to grow his involvement within the organization. He has served as the S3DA South Regional Coordinator for the past two years and currently serves as an S3DA Coach with Iron Draw Archery in Statesboro, Georgia.
When the Georgia State Coordinator position became available, Elmore saw an opportunity to help continue the growth of archery and S3DA throughout the state. “I believe S3DA is one of the best youth archery organizations because of the opportunities it provides through Indoor, 3D, and Target archery,” said Elmore. “The program gives young archers the opportunity to develop their skills, gain experience, and grow within the sport while also learning valuable lessons about ethical hunting and conservation. I’m excited about the opportunity to support the teams we already have in Georgia while helping introduce S3DA to even more communities across the state.”
As Georgia State Coordinator, Elmore’s immediate goal is to provide strong support to the existing S3DA teams throughout Georgia while working to establish additional teams, particularly in the southern portion of the state. His long-term vision is to see established S3DA teams in every county across Georgia. Elmore plans to begin working toward that goal by utilizing his experience and connections within the education system to introduce more schools, families, and youth to the opportunities available through S3DA.
S3DA is excited to welcome David Elmore into his new role and looks forward to the experience, leadership, and passion he will bring to the continued growth of the program throughout Georgia.
