The Tree Stand Safety Awareness Foundation (TSSA) is a non-profit organization that focuses on tree stand safety and ensures that every hunter that uses a tree stand does so in a safe manner so that he or she comes home safe to their family and friends. The mission of the Tree Stand Safety Awareness Foundation is to significantly reduce tree stand incidents through promotion, education, and best practices.
As September was Tree Stand Safety Awareness Month, TSSA and S3DA teamed up to provide S3DA youth members with an educational quiz on the importance of Tree Stand Safety. Every youth member that completed the quiz was entered into a drawing for a chance to possibly win a full-body safety harness and lifeline, trail camera, haul line and tree stand equipment hanger, or a 1-year FREE subscription to the HuntStand Pro hunting app. With over 100 submissions, the four lucky winners announced were:
·Aubrey Shelley – Hunter Safety System Full-body Harness and Hawk Safety Line
·Lydia Smith – Muddy Trail Camera
·Sydney Clardy – Haul line and tree stand equipment hanger
·Dallas Freeman – 1-year FREE Subscription to HuntStand Pro Hunting app
Glen Mayhew, TSSA President said, “TSSA is proud to work with the S3DA program to teach the next generation about the importance of conservation and safety. We know that a significant percentage of the youth and coaches either currently hunt or will become hunters as a result of their tremendous experiences in S3DA. TSSA is pleased to be able to provide them with the ABCs of Tree Stand Safety and other information about how to use tree stands in a safe and enjoyable manner.”
